AVAM Studio Rentals, 2011-2012: Deadline: December 22, 2010

The Visual Artists of Madrid Association (AVAM) announces the availability of temporary studio space, subsidized by the Madrid City Government for professional visual artists needing to work in Madrid for periods ranging between 3 - 15 months between January 1, 2011 and March 31, 2012.

Arteleku Studios, San Sebastian. Deadline: May 14, 2010

Located in the Loiola District in the outskirts of San Sebastian, about 2 kms. from the city center, Arteleku occupies an industrial building and has been an art center since 1987.

It also offers studios for rent. When applying for a studio, those interested must send their CV, a dossier about their work and a report on the project they wish to carry out, at the same time specifying the period during which they wish to rent it.

Deadline: May 14, 2010

The rental fee is 42 euros a month, which include the free use of the centre’s workshops (with the exception of lithography workshop) and facilities.

People who take up a place working at Arteleku have to look for their own lodging and be able to cover other maintenance costs. The center, however, offers help to find housing.

Pilar Juncosa Award for an Educational Project, Deadline: August 31, 2010

The Fundació Pilar i Joan Miró in Palma de Mallorca has announced an award for creating an educational project involving the visual arts to be carried out at the Fundació Pilar i Joan Miró in Palma de Mallorca, Balearic Islands.

Award: 6,000 euros (2,500 euros for the dsign and conception of the project and 3,500 euros for the creation and execution of the project at the foundation in Palma de Mallorca.

Objective: Proposed projects must promote and encourage greater interest in contemporary art amoung a specific sector of the public (teathers, children, young people, the elderly, handicapped, etc.) It can either be related to the Foundation's documentary and artistic resources or to any other aspect of contemporary creation. Proposals must take into account the foundation's infrastructure, organization and team in charge of educational affairs.

2010 Matadero-Madrid International Mobility Awards. Deadline: May 1, 2010



These awards, sponsored by the Art Department of the Madrid City Government, are addressed to Madrid-based artists and arts administrators looking for creative, researching and networking experiences abroad, in opportunities for cultural exchange and in promoting the international dimension of Madrid's cultural producers.

Can Serrat, Barcelona. Visual Arts Full Stipend Application Deadline: April 30, 2010

Can Serrat, located in a rustic farmhouse 45 kms. outside of Barcelona, offers an open residency opportunity within the confines of the Montserrat Natural Park.

No formal application procedure for attending. Booking depends on space availability. A number of full stipends are set aside each year for one-month residency stays.

The Montehermoso Cultural Center located in Vitoria, Alava, presents the Art and Research call, the aim being to facilitate the production, diffusion and exhibition of contemporary art projects. One-month international artist residency opportunity in Barcelona

Hangar.org, Barcelona - Studio Rentals. March and April, 2010 deadlines

Artists or groups who occasionally need a studio for developing projects or specific commissions, artists who are starting out and need a studio (for up to two years) or artists moving to Barcelona on a temporary basis.

Hangar does not currently award grants to overseas artists travelling to Barcelona. All artists, of any nationality, may apply to work in one of Hangar’s studios. Travel expenses and accommodation in Barcelona, as well as the cost of studio rental must be met by the artist.
