Miró Workshops, Palma de Mallorca, Spain


Location: Pilar i Joan Miró Foundation, Palma de Mallorca, Balearic Islands
Workshops addressed to: profesional and international artists interested in experimenting and developing their work (engraving, lithography, serigraphy, photography techniques, and ceramics.)

Equipment: includes some that Joan Miró used in his work such as the screw press and the lithographic press. In order to adapt the operation of the workshops to suit present day requirements, they have been modernised, and equipment and materials have been bought, making it possible to give courses and to use the most up
-to-date methods and techniques in the field of printing.

Exhibition space: The basement floor of the new building has designed exclusively for exhibiting the work produced in the Miró Workshops.

Education program:

- Initiation Workshops in a wide range of graphic and printing techniques for all those individuals and artists interested in learning about the world of engraving and in acquiring theoretical and practical knowledge in the main techniques of traditional printing.

- Multi-disciplinary and Experimental Workshops are workshops which will be open to other fields as well as that of traditional graphics, arranged for artists and professionals in different spheres. Ceramics, photography, new digital technologies, etc. Participating and open workshops which will be accompanied by conferences, seminars, debates, etc.

- Special Editions and Projects. The Pilar i Joan Miró Foundation a Mallorca encourages and carries out publishing projects with individuals and groups which, in its opinion, would be of interest either for its innovative and experimental nature or the quality of the work, etc. The Foundation will invite and select artists from the proposals submitted.
